How to solve the problem of powder agglomeration in powder coating line?

Publish Time: 2025-01-28
The problem of powder agglomeration in powder coating line is a technical problem that needs to be taken seriously and properly solved.

First, we need to clarify the main reasons for powder agglomeration. Powder agglomeration is usually caused by moisture, heat, or heavy pressure during storage or transportation, as well as unreasonable powder coating formula design, overdue storage and other factors. These factors will cause adhesion between powder particles, thereby forming agglomerations.

Improve storage conditions: Ensure that powders are stored in dry, cool, and well-ventilated areas to avoid moisture and heat. Storage containers should be well sealed to prevent moisture and humidity from entering the air. At the same time, the shelf life of powder coatings should be checked regularly and expired products should be replaced in time.

Optimize transportation methods: During transportation, containers that can withstand heavy pressure should be used, and the powder should be avoided from being squeezed or vibrated as much as possible. In addition, the temperature and humidity of the transportation environment should be controlled within an appropriate range to reduce the risk of powder agglomeration.

Adjust the powder coating formula: When designing the powder coating formula, materials whose glass transition temperatures of resin and powder coating meet the storage stability requirements of powder coatings should be selected. At the same time, the content of ultrafine powder coating should be controlled to reduce the possibility of powder agglomeration. For powder coating that has already agglomerated, it can be crushed mechanically and then sieved before use.

Strengthen equipment management: Regularly check and clean spraying equipment such as powder feeders and powder delivery pipes to ensure that there is no powder accumulation or blockage inside the equipment. At the same time, the compressed air pressure should be stabilized to reduce powder agglomeration during the spraying process.

Solving the problem of powder agglomeration in the powder coating line requires multiple aspects, including improving storage conditions, optimizing transportation methods, adjusting powder coating formulas, and strengthening equipment management. The implementation of these measures will help improve the production efficiency and coating quality of the powder coating line.
